Compiling BioBridge SDK
Installer with Your Application (Using MSI)
MSI, also known as “Windows Installer” (or previously as “Microsoft Installer”) is a software component
that is used for installation, maintenance, and removal of any software on a PC with an up-to-date Microsoft
Windows system. We encourage all our users to use Windows Installer as the basis for installation
frameworks, so that they are able to synchronize with other installers and keep their internal database of
installed products consistent. Important features in the SDK such as rollback and versioning depend on a
consistent internal database for reliable operation. Apart from that, Windows Installer facilitates the principle
of least privilege by allowing software installations by proxy for unprivileged users.
