Access Control System: The external Rechargeable Backup Batteries are almost always used in an access control system. The backup battery prevents intruders from disabling the access control by turning off power to the building, and continues locking the doors secured by the system.

Time & Attendance System: For Time and Attendance System that records clocking-in and out data for employees, power failure might cause discrepancies in the payroll system. Thus, external rechargeable backup batteries are often used in Time & Attendance terminals as a backup power.

  5VDC and 12VDC Mini UPS

The Mini-UPS works as a portable power source for FingerTec time attendance models. There are 2 models, which can supply 5VDC and 12VDC power for different models. They are a small but long lasting power source. You can recharge the Mini UPS using the same power adaptor of your FingerTec terminal, without having to keep track of an additional/special charger. The Mini UPS can last up to 4 hours* of operation.

For FingerTec i-Kiosk 100 Plus, Face ID 2, and TA300 terminals, despite the power adaptor being the major power supplier, these models are designed with built-in backup battery to prolong the usage of the terminals for another 2-4 hours when power failure. The Lithium backup battery is same as your cellphone/smartphone battery, which is easily recharged while the terminals are running on the main power source.
