Redang Island Resort Breezes through Employee Attendance with FingerTec’s TA100
Redang Island Resort (RIR) is a 98-room boutique resort situated in Terengganu, an east coast state of Peninsular Malaysia. Situated at Teluk Redang, RIR is owned by the Berjaya Group, a Malaysia-based conglomerate that owns a great variety of businesses consisting of resorts, casinos, food and beverage, education and property development. As a premier hospitality group, Berjaya Group also owns a commercial airline and several exclusive golf and country clubs in Malaysia, ensuring that their customer’s needs are taken care of from A to Z.

For workforce administration in a hotel, it involves rotating shifts and implementing multiple rosters around the clock. This makes it difficult for the management to retain their existing methods of tracking and maintaining their staff attendance manually. Knowing that they would require a practical and cost-effective solution without compromising the productivity of their employees, the hotel contacted PC Mart, our esteemed reseller for their recommendation. After weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each model, RIR decided on the deployment of FingerTec’s TA100.
FingerTec’s TA100 deployment was well received by the hotel workers who previously relied on the usage of proximity cards to validate their attendance. By using work codes to report their location, this gave the workers more freedom and flexibility to move around for their work. Bundled with the TCMS V2, RIR’s management had their work simplified as they no longer needed to track their employees using a separate system. The integration of TA100C and TCMS V2 made it easy for their human resources and payroll department to extract the logs and convert it into presentable reports.
